Children's Ministries
Sunday School (Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.)
We have ongoing Sunday School classes for children of all ages (from 2-3 year olds through high school), along with a fully staffed nursery for infants & toddlers. The younger classes use prepared material from Great Commission Publication (GCP - the publishing branch of the PCA) called "Show Me Jesus." Age appropriate for each class, this curriculum has a solid covenant-reformed theological foundation. The Middle School class uses a two-year curriculum that covers the Shorter Catechism (material also from GCP and based upon G.I. Williamson's two volume study). The High School class is set up as a Bible study, presently studying Philippians.
Kids’ Quest (Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m.)
Kids’ Quest Catechism Club is a 36 week program that teaches children Bible truths through simple questions and answers. This curriculum, based on First Catechism for children, is flexible and promotes memorization using components of Bible teaching, music, and activities.
The goal of Kids’ Quest is to help children learn that they are made for God’s own glory and to apply this purpose to their life. Through “catechizing” (using First Catechism), kids are given the language of faith and God-word focus.
Vacation Bible School
What do you get when you put 65 children, over 25 helpers and a lot of fun for five days at church? A memorable Vacation Bible School!
This past year, 2009, VBS was held August 3-7 at Faith Presbyterian. We had many enthusiastic children, helpers and teachers. The days were full of crafts, Bible stories, skits, singing, and learning about missionaries. In fact many of the children brought school supplies to give to needy children in San Antonio through One Way International.
We thank the Lord for the teaching the children received about God's provision of faith to His people. Please pray for these children from the church and others from the area and how the Lord spoke to them through the stories and love shown to them during VBS week.
Many thanks to all who were involved. To God be the Glory!
